The Tiger Football and Cross Country Teams had a sendoff parade through town today as students, parents and people throughout the community turned out to cheer as the head to their state championship competitions.

The teams, in the schools' special event buses were given a police escort and accompanied by law enforcement vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances as well as at least 30 vehicles from businesses, agencies and community members.

Both teams will be competing on Saturday. The football team is in round one of the state championship playoffs.They are kicking off at West Las Vegas High School at 1 p.m. The cross country team, in their inaugural year, both the boy's and the girl's squads qualified to compete at the state championship meet, held at Rio Rancho High School, where the girls will run at 9:30 a.m. and the boys at 11:0 a.m.
