Royce "Sam" Tow passed away November 6, 2020. He was 84 years old and was born March 8, 1936 in central New Mexico. He was raised around the Silver City, NM area.
Sam was retired from Phelps Dodge and spent many years as a New Mexico State Policeman. He was also an Air Force veteran.
Sam was the last remaining survivor of 11 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Meredith Tow and his mother, Daphna Ola Pruit Tow, as well as his siblings: Perry Gus Tow, Melton Tow, Rhea Tow, Norval Tow, Gene Tow, Mary Lou Carlson, Tom Tow, Ruth Mobley, Bill Tow, Don Tow; as well as many in-laws. He is further survived by his wife, Mary Tow, of Truth or Consequences, NM; and ex-wives, Margaret Norene Tow, of Truth or Consequences, and Mary Ellen Tow, of Las Cruces, NM. Other survivors include three sons: Del Tow and wife, Caroline, of Albuquerque, NM, Daryl Tow and wife, Holly, of Silver City, NM, and Coy Tow and husband, John Paul Tow, of Georgetown, Texas. He loved his grandchildren: Heather Tow, Britney Trump and husband, Ryan, Liz Tow, Stacia Grigoriev and husband, Misha, Stuart Tow and wife Julianna, and Meredith Grace Tow, as well as his two great-grandchildren, Ruth Tow and Devlin Tow. Other surviving family includes an extended list of aunts, uncles, cousins and many lifelong friends!
A private memorial service will be held on a later date.
