Emily Carolyn Bunda, 88, passed away peacefully at Sierra Health Care Center on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Mrs. Bunda was born in East Point, Georgia to James Carl and Mary G. (Speir) Boyd.

Emily was a longtime resident of Tijeras, New Mexico before moving to Elephant Butte in 2005. Emily retired as an executive secretary for Philco Ford, where she worked on many different government contracts; including contracting with NASA at the Space Center in Texas during the moon landing in 1969.

In her spare time, Emily enjoyed singing, reading, traveling and doing ceramics. She was a member of the Bridge Club, the May I Club and the American Legion.

Emily is survived by her two children: Debra Neely and Steven Bunda; grandchildren: Shauna Neely, Justin Neely and Timothy Bunda; and great-grandchildren: Megan Bunda and Christopher Bunda.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edward Bunda.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be determined.
